The Gospel
This story of redemption is not just for people like Peter, Thomas, or Mary, but for all people! Romans 3:23 says that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” We all have sin that separates us from God. And we can not earn our way back into good favor with God, because our sin debt needs to be paid. But God so loved us that He gave us His only son, so that anyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. In order for us to have forgiveness for our sins, and to be in relationship with God again, we have to do two things: we have to first agree with God about our sin, that we are unable to pay that sin penalty ourselves, and we must second put our faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. John 1:12 tells us that for all those who believed in Him, He gave them the right to become children of God, and there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

Have you ever asked Jesus to forgive you for your sins? You can do that today, in the quietness of your own heart right now, and speak to Jesus. You can tell Him that you recognize that you are a sinner that is in need of saving. That you believe that he died for you on that cross, and was raised on the third day. Today could be your redemption story; don’t let another day go by without putting your faith in Jesus!
