Widows Together enjoyed a mini retreat the last Saturday in October at the home of one of our members, Penny Simonaire, our hostess and guest speaker. “The Quiet Place” is located in a secluded wooded area overlooking Black Hole Creek off of the Magothy River just north of Annapolis. We were treated to a lovely sit-down luncheon while we fellowshipped together and took in the gorgeous views of landscape and water from the totally glassed-in living and dining areas.

Penny then shared her wonderful insights and personal experiences to help us develop our own precious times in the Word and prayer by getting “real” with God. We finished up the afternoon by spending some private moments with our Lord, visiting together and having fun exploring the grounds and going down the long-planked stairway to the dock where we enjoyed beautiful sailboats and shore views. We felt so refreshed and at peace when it was time to return home. How lovely to be in this special spot of God’s creation with our sisters in Christ!
