Update & Survey from Regathering Task Force

June 9, 2020 | Regathering Task Force

In this unprecedented season, Forcey Bible Church is committed to carrying out our mission in creative ways.  We’re committed to sharing the hope and light of the Lord in the midst of uncertainty and fear.

Since the beginning of this pandemic, we have sought to BE the church, finding new and creative ways to continue our mission when we could not meet in person. Our ministry plans may change, but our vision does not! We have remained open in this season, even if we could not be in person.  So, we’re referring to these efforts not as reopening, but as regathering.

We know there are many different thoughts, comfort levels, and risk factors within our congregation. Our prayer for our church in this season is for unity (not uniformity!) while we enter what will be a logistically and emotionally challenging time. We’re committed to loving each other and our neighbors well, with gospel strength and unity.

Our Board appointed our small team of staff and leaders to research and discuss how to best re-gather Forcey Bible Church.   This team is working on our regathering plans, holding fast to our priority in this season of keeping people safe and showing them Jesus. We are focusing these decisions around our commitment to our mission, love for our neighbor, Biblical respect for authority, and sustainability of our resources.

Our approach seeks to care for our people and our neighbors while continuing to engage them in effective ministry – making disciples who make a difference through grace-filled worship, community, and missions.

The regathering team with support from the Board and staff is moving forward with a rolling physical regathering; taking us from online only to gathering in increasingly large groups until all restrictions are lifted.

The renovation of our sanctuary is targeted for completion in early to mid July.  We plan to begin a physical regathering as soon as we can after the sanctuary is finished.

To help us best plan and prepare for the possibilities of a limited worship service and expansions, we are asking each household to complete 1 online survey by this Friday, June 12, 2020.

Please click here or visit www.forcey.org to complete the survey.

Please join us in praying and asking God for wisdom, courage, and joy as we follow him through uncertainty.

Together in Christ,

The Regathering Task Force
