Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)

Shara Chong & Deborah Fusco (2021-2022 Co-Coordinators)

MOPS is designed for all mothers of preschool age children from birth to 5 years.

You care for your family, but are you caring for yourself?
Where do you find time to recharge?
Who answers your questions?
Who listens to your heart?

The answer is here at Forcey MOPS! These ministries are here to nurture and strengthen you! Whether you are in the midst of pregnancy, have a toddler (or 2), an energetic preschooler or a student navigating those elementary school years, we are here for you! This is a place that provides the opportunity to make new friends, share experiences, learn, laugh, ask questions and learn Biblical principles pertaining to womanhood, marriage and parenting.

Forcey MOPS Ministry and COVID-19

The past year was TOUGH!  Motherhood is always challenging but facing a pandemic that forced us into isolation and uncertainty created a whole new set of challenges.  One thing that 2020 revealed was our desire and absolute need for Christ, community and each other.  Over the past year our moms at Forcey MOPS came together to provide support, Biblical encouragement and continued community during some rough times.  As we look towards what we hope will be a return to normalcy, we are committed to providing this community to all moms of young children.

Plans for next year’s MOPS program are underway, and the best news is that we will be meeting in person!!  Woohoo!!  Once again there is still uncertainty about what our meeting will look like as we will be following all CDC and State guidelines applicable at that time, but we will be able to gather in person and provide childcare starting in September.

An exciting addition to our MOPS group for this year is the continuation of our virtual groups.  Any moms unable to attend our in-person meetings will be able to join a virtual group and hear the same encouraging messages and participate in the same discussion as those moms attending the in-person meeting.  Activities outside of the Tuesday morning meeting times and interactions on our Facebook page will create opportunities for all of our moms to interact and build friendships.

So no matter your situation there is a spot for you in our community!

MOPS Registration

We meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 9:30-11:30 starting in September and finishing in May.  Virtual groups will be scheduled in the evenings on a day of the moms choosing.  Meeting Registration fees for 2021-2022 include the $32 non-refundable MOPS International fee and takes into account that virtual members will not be able to participate in all the in-person activities.  Additionally, those moms registering with MOPSKids will also need to commit to provide childcare during two meetings, one per semester.  If finances are an issue, please contact us as scholarships are available!

Over the summer we will continue to minister to our community via virtual gatherings, Facebook discussions and newsletters.  If you would like to be a part of this community for the summer, and/or have questions about our ministry please email us at [email protected].

JOIN US AS WE EXPLORE THE 2021-2022 MOPS INTERNATIONAL THEME

After a year spent hunkering down, living smaller, and experiencing a little more fear and anxiety than usual, we are declaring this is the year of going big. It’s a year of fresh starts and turning ordinary experiences into extraordinary ones. Enthusiasm will replace worry. Friendship will replace loneliness. No longer will we wait to “get back to normal”; instead, we will start making space for the new things God has for us. We will become less guarded and more daring because this is our year to live All For Love.

This year we embrace the transformative power of love, to the point where it starts to affect everything we do — the way we talk to our kids, interact with strangers, handle disappointments, celebrate victories, make decisions. When love floods into our lives, it all shifts. It results in less doom-scrolling, more conversation. Less comparison, more community. Less fear, more confidence. More over-the-top displays of compassion. More patience. More life in our souls. This year, love will save us. In fact, it already has, because love’s name is Jesus.  Living All For Love means we will: Walk in Power, Love One Another, Make Love Our Legacy.

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 (ESV)

MOPSKids

MOPSKids is our affectionately termed MOPS childcare program that runs parallel to the MOPS meetings. It is available for children aged 4 months through 5 years. Ages two through five enjoy preschool-like activities and teaching. All teachers are trained and have undergone a background check. Each child must be registered to participate in MOPSKids. Children younger than 4 months are welcome and loved with mom at the MOPS meetings.
