Vacation Bible School 2010

http://www.forcey.org/uploads/vbs_logo_2010.jpgARE YOUR KIDS READY FOR AN AMAZING ADVENTURE? HOW DOES AN EXPEDITION TO EXPLORE AN ANCIENT CIVILIZATION FILLED WITH MYSTERY SOUND?

Register your adventurers so they can journey with us to Egypt in Answers to Genesis’s VBS thriller, The Egypt File: Decoding the Mystery of Life. Together we will follow the clues through God’s Word to unravel the answers to questions about our special design, value, and purpose.

We will embark on our VBS adventure at Forcey Memorial Church during the week of June 21-25, 2010 from 8:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day. Children will learn that God made them in His very image—they are special and set apart from the animals! Our purpose in life is to love and serve Him. We will have a great time with lively songs, hilarious skits, creative crafts, exciting games, dress-up days, Bible stories and tasty oasis snacks—all of the things that make VBS so much fun.

Forcey’s VBS is open for children:

  • as young as those: Born before 9/1/05 & entering kindergarten in fall;
  • as old as those: Completing 5th grade.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  Walk-in registrations will be accepted.

This year there is a fee of $5.00 per child to defray expenses, payable on arrival the first day of VBS.

If desired, you can also purchase a music CD for $2.00 (due to copyright requirements) in the church lobby on Sundays or in the church office during the week.

If you have questions you can contact our Registration Director, Sue Abe, by email at abe@swann-sales.com or by phone on 301-854-1444.

Mission Project

During the week of VBS, children will be invited to participate in a mission project with Julius & Rachel Murgor, missionaries serving in Kenya, East Africa with Harvesters International Missions. Their mission is to bring the gospel to the Pokot tribe and meet their physical needs such as clean water, food, and medicine. Our goal is to raise money to support children in three orphanages that do not have enough food or school supplies. Most of these children lost their parents due to disease and starvation. Getting an education will help them better understand the value of their witness in a country where so many have not heard the gospel. VBS children will have an opportunity to share God’s blessings by bringing in loose change donations.

FOOD ALLERGY ALERT!

We want you to be aware of the snacks to be offered at VBS this year so that you can plan for your child accordingly if your child has food allergies. If your child is unable to eat the snack for the day, please let your child’s group leader know on the appropriate morning of VBS. Please drop off a snack for the day with your child’s group leader (with your child’s name, group and grade clearly marked on the bag). The group leader will make sure your child receives that snack. If a parent inadvertently forgets to provide a snack for a child with an identified allergy, the child will most likely be unable to have a snack that morning unless the parent can be reached.
